The tools that I used to create my artworks is often just a pencil, a shading pencil, and a eraser. I use the pencil to outline the artwork, with any mistakes being erased with the eraser. Then I would shade in anything that would need a shadow or help a part of the artwork stand out. The shading pencil would help make the artwork look cleaner. I learned to not be to ambitious with my artwork or else it could fail and I don't have a good end result for the artwork. Sometimes a simple idea is the best idea. I would often envision the artwork being done and what the finished artwork would look like. However, most of the time some part would change, like for example, I might want to change the hair of the person I'm drawing because it's too changing for me. For most of my artworks I like to have the characters mad or draw what feels like an epic moment, and I prefer to use only a pencil. This sometimes doesn't leave to too much diversity between the artworks. Most of my artworks are either landscapes or characters being mad. I love my artworks of people because their some of the more difficult artworks to work on because human faces are hard to make them look right. I do want to add more colors into my artworks, other than black, and white. The skeleton artwork had a big risk with the colors in the background because the skeleton might not of meshed well with the background, but it turned out really well. Some of my peers gave some good feedback that helped me improve my artwork. One example was changing the hand of one of my sketchbook drawings because it looked off.
5/17/19 Artist Statement
Most of my inspiration for my artworks were what I was personally into. A example would be a video game character. Nearly all of my artworks involve pencil, however the pen drawing made me enjoy using pen. The main reason being that it lead to interesting shading and line work. In the future I would love create more artworks that use ink. A major challenges this year was not being very motivated with some of the artworks.
